THE TWO GREATEST WORDS...

Today, I typed the greatest two words a writer can type. The End. I get such an amazing feeling of accomplishment whenever I get to type those words at the end of a story, in this case a novel. With all stories, there are parts that flow easy and parts that don't. This one offered a few challenges, but the characters and I made it through. Hopefully, my editor will like it.

No rest for the wicked though. I received edits on another project back this morning. Diving into them now.

Fun times.

I'm still a bit behind and playing catch up. #amwriting

THE WRAP UP-- LOCAL AUTHORS HOLIDAY MARKET!

Today's office. I cleaned up a little bit, but it didn't last.
Always great seeing my pal, Jeff Allen.
I'm feeling inspired today (a wonderful side effect of hanging out with creative people last night) so I've barricaded myself in the office to do some writing. #amwriting

Last night, I attended the Local Author's Holiday Market at Normal Bar in Athens, GA. It was a fun event with some phenomenal writers and artists on hand. I met and chatted with some creative people. Featured Authors at the event included...
John Pence: "The Ballad Of Bridghid Of Atlanta"
Misha Cahmann-Taylor:" Imperfect Tense"
Bobby Nash: "Evil Ways" and other books
Terry McVoy: "In Deep" and other books
Jamie Allen: " The 2016 Squirrel Census Report"

Kristin Bach/Rinne Allen/Rebecca Wood: "Beauty Everyday"
Sarah Hubbard: "The Story Of A Sweetgum"
Bain Mattox: "The Day The World Flipped Over"
Mandi C. Mathis: "The Littleset Inventor"
Bart King/Jacob Wenzka: "Juniper Gets Wet"

It was a fun time and Bain Mattox, our host for the event said that they will probably do it again.

Since I had to unfortunately bow out of the Charlotte Comicon on December 11th, the Author's Holiday Market was my final appearance scheduled for 2016. I'll hit the road again in 2017.

CONVENTION RESCHEDULING! CHARLOTTE COMICON!

Unfortunately, I have had to cancel my appearance at the Charlotte Comicon tomorrow, December 11th. Nothing serious, but sometimes real life intrudes on my geeky life. I will return for one or two of the Charlotte Comicon's 2017 shows on August 20th and December 17th.

The Charlotte Comicon is a great Event. If you're in the Charlotte, NC area tomorrow, you should check it out. www.charlottecomicon.con

To everyone attending tomorrow, have a great con.

SOMETIMES I GET ASKED STUFF... #38-- SUPER-SIZED HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR!

Welcome back to the 38th installment of Sometimes I Get Asked Stuff… another jam-packed super-sized edition. In addition to questions from fans and readers, I've also pulled questions from writing groups/blogs/facebook as well to round things out. Thanks for all of the amazing questions. Please, keep ‘em coming. I absolutely love answering them. Yes, even the silly ones from time to time.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. It was a quiet affair for the Nash family this year, just a small meal with the family. With the holidays right around the corner, I decided to drop all of the gathered questions into one big stocking-stuffer of a Sometimes I Get Asked Stuff… I had to skimp on the photos/art this time around. Just the Q and A this time.

You can check out all of the past installments of Sometimes I Get Asked Stuff... here.

Bring on the questions... Click Read More... to see them.

BOBBY CHOOSES A SIDE! DISCUSSING CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR ON THE RECLAMATION SOCIETY PODCAST!

I had a great time discussing the ins and outs and ramifications of Marvel's Captain America: Civil War movie on the Reclamation Society podcast with my buddy, Jay Sherer. It was a fun, in-depth discussion about the themes of the movie, including looking at both sides of the issues in the film.

I hope you'll check it out on Podbean or iTunes.

On this week's episode of the Reclamation Society podcast, Jay and Bobby Nash cover the following topics from Marvel's Captain America: Civil War...
  • Should the Avengers be held responsible for their actions?
  • Are there times in life where we lack self control? What can we/should we do about that?
  • How do we maintain strong relationships with our neighbors?
  • Who, if anyone, should the Avengers report to?

AUTHOR INTERVIEW-- BOBBY NASH DREAMS OF LAKESIDE LIVING!

Bobby Nash and Buddy Roberts at
Hoover Library's Sci-Fi/Lit Fest 2016.
I was interviewed by my friend, Buddy Roberts for Lakeside Living magazine when I was in Alabama back in October for the Hoover Library Sci-Fi/Fantasy Lit Fest. I first met Buddy at the Alabama Phoenix Fest a few years back and we bonded over a mutual love of comic books and writing. Buddy does good interviews. It's always fun to talk with him. You can check it out on page 6 of the December 2016 issue now available here.

Thanks, Buddy. That was fun.

TODAY'S OFFICE...

I stayed inside my messy office to write today. I really should do some cleaning in here. Maybe later. Right now I'm working toward the end if one novel and researching a Media Tie-in novel I'm about to start (more on that later). Fun times.

The novel I'm finishing features the classic pulp character The Avenger. The novel is called "Black Water" (unless I have to change it) and will be published in 2017 by Moonstone Books.

Also on the board is the Lance Star: Sky Ranger novel, "Cold Snap" (again, unless it's changed, which sometimes happens). I will finish it after The Avenger.  Lance Star: Sky Ranger "Cold Snap" will also premiere in 2017 from Airship 27 Productions.

And then I jump ful speed ahead into the tie-in.

Have a great week.

SUITING UP FOR CIVIL WAR!

Had a fun time talking Captain America: Civil War with Jay Sherer on The Reclamation Society podcast today. Look for it to go live in a week or so. Learn more about The Reclamation Society below or at their website here.

What is truth? That's the question we ask when we discuss films, television shows, and comic books. We dive deeper into the philosophies, theologies, and values held by the storytellers and conveyed through their characters. Every storyteller communicates his or her version of truth. And, since stories help us interpret and understand our universe, we want to dive deeper into the stories circulating within our culture. We even analyze our own stories! SUPPORT CREATORS THIS BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND!

Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are both excellent times to support independent creators. You see them all over social media; writers, artists, musicians, actors, crafters, filmmakers, and more. Take some of that money you're saving on the deals at the big box stores and support creativity this Black Friday. You'll not only get something cool and unique, but you'll support the arts, and make a creator's day a little brighter in the process. Isn't that what this season is all about?

Bobby

CANCELLED!

I found out last night that a writing project of mine has been cancelled due to low pre-sales. It's a bummer, but it happens. The publisher has a plan that can get these stories out, but in a different format than originally planned. Ah, such are the vagaries of working in the publishing business.

More details when I can mention them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I decided to take advantage of the nice Thanksgiving weather to do some writing outside. I don't have any big plans other than lunch with my parents and brother so I'm working on one of the novels that a publisher is anxiously (or is that impatiently?) awaiting. I'm so far behind schedule on deadlines and still playing catch up. Lots to do. Lots to do. Moreover, I'm thankful to have understanding publishers. It means a lot.

I am also thankful to everyone who visits this page or follows my misadventures on social media. You guys help keep me going. I mean that seriously. Plus, thanks to my patrons over on Patreon for your help. A big thank you goes out to my readers and those who have bought books. I an so thankful that I can tell stories and it's a nice bonus that people actually buy and read them. I'm also thankful for my family. I don't share a lot of personal details, but 2016 has been rough on my family )2014 and 2015 weren't no prizes either, believe me), but we're still here and sill weathering the storm. I am definitely thankful for that.

Also, a big ol' thank you to the creators, writers, artists, publishers, and more I've been privileged to work with on this writing journey. There's still a long way to go and a lot of work ahead, but I'm excited to see what this adventure will bring and I hope you'll share that adventure with me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

SWITCHING GEARS! WHY I LIKE TO WORK ON MORE THAN ONE PROJECT AT A TIME!

Sometimes you just have to switch gears.

I'm working on a novel now and nearing the end, but just wasn't feeling it today. It happens from time to time. In this instance, I have been working on this novel for some time now and today I just needed a break from the characters and story for a day, a chance to recharge the batteries. That said, I really couldn't afford to take the day off and not write so I was left wondering what to do? What to do?

So, I switched over to another open project, also a novel. This novel features Lance Star: Sky Ranger, and worked on it instead and am getting a good bit accomplished. Switching gears helped today, I think. This is one of the joys I find with having multiple projects going at one time. Sometimes you need to take a break from one story to work on something else. The real trick is making sure you get back to the one you took time off from and meet your deadline. I'll return to work on it tomorrow.

While working on Lance Star: Sky Ranger, I ran across this bit of dialogue I wrote earlier and really liked it--
“Sure, the man can be a pompous ass most of the time, but show me a pilot that doesn’t have an arrogant streak about him and I’ll show you a pilot that never gets air under his wings. No way is he working for the Nazis! I’ll believe he was scooped up by aliens before I believe that!”

Read a sample chapter from The Adventures of Lance Star Vol. 1 by Bobby Nash. This collection leads into the Lance Star novel, "Cold Snap" coming 2017. Get your copy here.

NASH NEWS - THE BOBBY NASH NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 16, 2016

Reposting the Nash News email newsletter sent today.

Welcome to the not-quite-monthly Nash News email newsletter. As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read my ramblings and keep up with my antics on social media, and for visiting Nash News at www.bobbynash.com. I’ve been informed that not everyone can see the covers that are part of the email. You can see all the art at www.bobbynash.com

It's a smokey November afternoon in Georgia as I type this as smoke from the North Georgia and Tennessee brush fires continues to keep us under its haze. This makes it harder to grab the laptop and head outside to write.

I've given up on trying to get the newsletter on a monthly schedule as I try to catch up on some deadlines I’ve fallen behind on of late. This whole year has been playing catch up, but progress is being made, slowly but surely.

Just click Read More... to see this month's Nash News.
